Leadership Grand Prairie

Leadership Grand Prairie offers an educational experience designed to develop an awareness of the City and its relationship to the Metroplex. The program provides personal leadership training facilitated by local business executives, city officials, and Maxwell Certified trainers, using John C. Maxwell’s book “The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership Workbook”. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be better prepared for leadership roles within their business and community.

Through the Leadership program, participants learn how to best utilize their leadership skills, while learning about the local community. Meeting and speaking with key community leaders about the inner workings of the city proved to be a valuable experience.

As a result of my Leadership Grand Prairie experience, I have been able to further enhance my business growth and improve my own leadership proficiency.

I strongly recommend this program for anyone who is a leader – or looking to become a leader. The skills, contacts and experiences gained from this program are invaluable.

Leadership Grand Prairie is entering its 36th year in 2024, with over 675 alumni to date. This nine month course is open to the community and surrounding businesses. While students have a variety of reasons for exploring the course, you will undeniably become better connected with our community, understand the workings and gain useful leadership skills from the first class.

The Leadership classes are held on the first Wednesday of each month from August 2024 – May 2025, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Program topics include: City Day, Criminal Justice & Public Safety, Arts & Culture, Education, Health & Human Services, Legislative Trip to Austin, Economic Development and Tourism. The Leadership Class participants will learn about these topics as they relate to the community and the surrounding DFW Metroplex.

We are NOW accepting applications for the Fall 2024 Class!

Leadership Grand Prairie is $850 per student, and we are capped at attendance of 25.  Breakfast and lunch is provided for each class, as well as entry fees to venues (if applicable), and the class book, "The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership Workbook".  Applications and deposit of $400 must be received together to assure reservation, no later than Friday, August 9th. Remainder payment must be submitted by October 2, 2024.
