Scholars Luncheon

This Luncheon is a time for the business community to assist willing students, both graduating high school seniors and qualifying adults chosen by one of our community non-profit organizations.  The major criteria to receive a Chamber scholarship is that they have created for themselves, or in accordance with their family an environment where they can find success, but need financial aid to take the first step. The Organizations that are participating this year are:

Brighter Tomorrows - The mission of Brighter Tomorrows is to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Children First - Children First Inc. is dedicated to providing for the mental health needs of children, adolescents and adults through education and counseling with emphasis on the prevention of and recovery from abuse, neglect, and victimization.

Christian Woman’s Job Corp - The mission of Christian Women’s Job Corps is to empower women with employment and life skills through classroom instruction and mentoring in a faith-based environment.

Grand Prairie Boys and Girls Club - The mission of the Boys and Girls Club is to enable all young people to reach their potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

Lifeline Shelter – The mission of the Lifeline Shelter is to reduce homelessness among families of school children in crisis who are enrolled in the Grand Prairie School District by providing emergency assistance, temporary shelter and life skills training for their parents.
